point-slope equation

IN MATH: 1. n. a linear equation of the form where is a point on the line and m is its slope. EX. Write in point-slope form the equation of a line with a slope of 7 containing the point (8,5).

Lines:
vertical lines, x = a, a = some constant
horizontal lines, y = a, a = some constant
linear functions, y = ax + b, etc.
