IN MATH: 1. adj. an angle whose measure is greater than 0° and less than 90° . EX. Angle ABC is acute because it measures 84 °. 2. adj. a triangle having three acute angles.

IN ENGLISH: 1. adj. sharp, extreme. EX. He has an acute need for medical attention. 2. as defined above.
