IN MATH: 1. n. an undefined term in mathematics described as: having 2 dimen sions; flat and unending; extending forever in two directions. EX. The point (4,3) only needs two coordinates to be graphed on the two-dimensional plane.

IN ENGLISH: 1. n. short for airplane. EX. We flew by plane to Hawaii. 2. n. leveling tool. 3. to use the leveling tool. EX. The carpenter used her plane to remove wood from the bottom edge of the door so it would open properly. 3. as defined above. (Note: The word plain means "unadorned," not fancy.)
